Erfan Shams was born in Tehran-Iran in 1985. He describes himself as a creator with a highly vivid imagination. Associating his creativity with his artistic vision, he produced his first short movie named “The moment I awakened” which received great attention from the Medias. The movie was chosen by “National Cinema School of Iran” as one of the best movies in a competition, aiming to offer a two-year scholarship program for fresh talents. The activity of the national school however, was terminated a year and a half later, but it marked a starting point for Erfan who was now familiar with many Iranian filmmakers in person.After graduating from school, he continued to further his knowledge by enrolling directing courses of Asghar Farhadi and Shahram Mokri. As a director, Erfan tends to follow his intuition rather than adhering to rules and structures accepted by general criteria. Hence most of his short movies are classified as Experimental. “The pleasure of creating is beyond everything else; that is why God created us”, He believes.

Having gained expertise in directing and screen-writing, he has worked with a renowned film-studio named “Animekadeh” to create a number of storylines and cooperate in many projects. His latest works also include directing advertisements for some reputable companies.In 2020, Erfan moved to Vancouver-Canada. He is very motivated to start fresh and to follow his career path in the country he believes that will help him to produce and direct many great movies with no boundaries.
